The aim of the Competition for Young Writers and Artists is to encourage young people to engage in visual arts and creative writing, to celebrate their creativity and originality.
This year, each young artist and writer is invited to create an original work of art, or write a story or poem, on the theme: ‘After Midnight’, and to enter our competition to become the Festival’s Young Writer or Young Artist of the Year 2026.
The competition is open to all children living in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly aged 4 to 16 on 31st August 2026. Thanks to generous sponsorship, entry is free and prizes will be awarded in each category and age group.
