This was chance to discover six wonderful private gardens as they opened their doors to the public over two days. On display were some of Fowey estuary’s hidden gems, from gardens with spectacular views, to secluded havens, walled gardens, hidden terraces and much more. Visitors followed the trail to uncover a glorious mix of vibrant gardens with a diverse variety of planting.
There was so much on offer to see, hear, taste and explore, with gardens offering tea, coffee homemade cakes, a glass of prosecco, a book stall and live operatic interludes by Thomas Martyn, an impressive tenor and graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London under the tutelage of Adrian Thompson.
A huge thank you to those who opened their stunning gardens, and to all the volunteers who gave their time so generously. Without doubt, the 2026 Secret Gardens Programme was the best yet!
