Cornwall’s Literary Heritage looks at Cornwall’s fascinating writers and legends. It starts with the Cornish language and then takes a journey around the county before looking at its rich poetry. It has a chapter on the forgotten, whose books are well worth seeking out and then finishes with modern day writers. Thomas Hardy and Daphne du Maurier, of course, feature heavily, as does Charles Dickens, whose A Christmas Carol owes it all to Cornwall…

Mark Mitchley is an author, researcher and former Headteacher, with a passionate interest in all things Cornish. His third book, Gorran Haven: An Alphabetical Miscellany, was shortlisted for the 2024 Holyer an Gof Awards.
