Liz Fenwick and Emma Cowell take to the stage for a warm and engaging event as they discuss their latest novels, Flora’s Day and Beneath the Orange Blossom.

Liz’s Flora’s Day follows one transformative day in a woman’s life, rich with emotion, reflection and the courage to embrace change. Emma’s Beneath the Orange Blossom is a vivid, uplifting story about escape, healing and the hidden histories that shape us, set against the glow of Mediterranean orange groves. Together, they will explore the inspirations behind their books, the themes that connect their work and the creative journeys that brought these stories to life. An insightful event for readers who love heartfelt, atmospheric fiction and lively conversation between two talented storytellers.

Dubbed ‘the queen of the contemporary Cornish novel by The Guardian, Liz Fenwick is the award-winning writer of eleven novels. Liz lives near the Helford River with her husband and two mad cats. When not writing or procrastinating on social media, she can be found ‘plotwalking’ and absorbing the Cornish landscape, which is the muse for her stories.

Emma is based in Greece, the source of inspiration for all her novels. A former actress and BBC presenter, segueing from being paid to talk for a living into writing was a natural progression, since storytelling has been at the heart of her career to date. Emma has been described as “a masterful storyteller” by New York Times bestseller Adriana Trigiani. Outside of work, Emma is a keen angler and is attempting to improve her Greek language skills…she is yet to achieve a level of proficiency outside of tavernas and bakeries. Beneath the Orange Blossom is her fifth novel.
