How do you create characters who are interesting and authentic? What makes a character compelling? Join playwrights Kate Aspengren and Kyle John Schmidt for a lively exploration of character. This interactive workshop will include tips, tricks, and the opportunity to create some rich, unique characters of your own. Writers of any age, experience level, or genre are welcome.

NB: Numbers are limited to 15.

Kate Aspengren is on the faculty of Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where she teaches creative writing, including a course on adaptation. Her published plays include Flyer and Blue Yonder. Her work has been produced throughout North America. Kyle John Schmidt is a writer whose plays have filled theatres across the US with sly jokes about hot-button issues. He received his Master of Fine Arts from the Michener Centre for Writers and currently lives in the Netherlands.
