Friday 11th May

Wildwood Kin

St Fimbarrus Church

Time: 7:00pm-10:00pm

Price: £16.00

We are delighted to welcome Wildwood Kin to this year’s Festival. An acclaimed family trio, they borrow heavily from early folk influences, but their extraordinary debut album delves deeply in to other genres, featuring both electric and acoustic instruments. It boasts inventive sonics and spectral atmospherics alongside their hypnotic three-part harmonies.  Guitarist Emillie Key, her bouzouki/keyboard-playing sister Beth and their drumming cousin Meghann Loney all sing, swapping leads on original songs, and joining forces on harmonies that have remained their trademark.

Their performance at Glastonbury 2017 was selected by the BBC as one of the Highlightsof the festival and their first two singles both featured on the BBC Radio 2 playlist.  Having signed to Sony’s Silvertone Label, the band’s amazing debut album “Turning Tides” was released in August 2017. In September, they play as part of Radio 2’s Festival in a Day in Hyde Park, before flying to Nashville to appear at the US Americana.  Last autumn, they embarked on their own UK headline tour and we are thrilled that he Festival forms as part of that tour.

Supporting Wildwood Kin tonight is Alex Hedley, the ex front man and lead guitarist of band Saturday Sun. Undoubtedly Alex’s voice illuminated everything the band created. Since becoming a solo artist, he has been touring extensively. Alex was recently reviewed by Paul Lester of The Guardian newspaper who said "It's hard to listen to without sending a shiver down your spine every time his voice soars and then recoils into an emotive quiver".

Join us this evening to hear for yourself.
