Trials and Tribulations of Memoir Writing
We are delighted to welcome to the Festival bestselling authors Nina Stibbe and Cathy Rentzenbrink. They have come together to talk about their markedly different approaches to writing their memoirs, bringing a light hearted look at the pitfalls of writing autobiography, along with the trials and tribulations of writing about family and friends…without alienating them! Nina’s book, Love, Nina: Despatches from Family Life, was shortlisted for the Waterstones Book of the Year Award and won Non-Fiction Book of the Year at the 2014 National Book Awards. In 2016, Nick Hornby adapted her book for BBC television, as Love, Nina, starring Faye Marsay and Helena Bonham Carter. Cathy is a highly regarded journalist and author and very well respected in the world of publishing having worked in various roles over many years. She has written two books – Sunday Times top 10, Last Act of Love and her recently published book A Manual for Heartache, which is receiving undisputed excellent reviews.
